A Simple List of Gluten Free Foods Helping You To Avoid Gluten Related Health Problems

Gluten is composed of two different proteins and is mostly found in wheat, barley and rye. What most people don't know is that gluten is accountable for various diseases and health problems.

Some people might even suffer for many years from various health conditions without even realizing that gluten is the cause of these health problems. Celiac disease is probably the most well known disease that's directly linked with gluten intolerance. However, there are also other health issues that are related to a gluten-rich diet:

* Gluten can cause skin disorders such as psoriasis.

* Gluten is responsible for different allergies.

* In the long run, a high carbohydrate / gluten rich diet (consisting mainly of pizza, bread, biscuits, cakes...), can lead to health issues, such as: polycystic ovary syndrome, insulin resistance and diabetes.

* Gluten intake is often associated with leaky gut syndrome. This is an inflammatory response which can affect the whole body and produce symptoms such as drowsiness, pain, allergies and skin problems.

    • ANSWER:
      Hey Jeremy,

I work specifically with Leaky Gut Syndrome and I use to have it myself so I completely understand where you are coming from.

But here's the big problem with foods and leaky gut...

When your intestinal lining begins to break down the foods you eat literally "leak" into your bloodstream where they are attacked by your immune system. So to make a long story short, you begin to react to all of the foods you eat. And the more often you eat 1 food, typically the worse your intolerance to that food becomes.

Of course you want to remove the most common food intolerances that are oftentimes unrelated to leaky gut but will contribute to it...

      1. Wheat/Gluten
      2. Dairy
      3. Soy
      4. Sugar
      5. All processed foods
      6. White table salt

Oftentimes it's best to remove all grains from your diet depending on how severe your dysbiosis (imbalance of bacteria in your gut) is. But this is what typically works best.

      What you should be eating...

      1. Cod Liver Oil
      2. Raw Garlic
      3. Ginger
      4. Coconut Oil
      5. Homemade Bone Broth
      6. Lots of cooked veggies (best cooked in broth)

Outside of that, you should focus on rotating the foods you eat every day for 3-4 days. For example, if you have chicken tonight then you shouldn't eat chicken for another 3-4 days. So maybe eat chicken today, beef tomorrow, turkey the next day, and so on...

Rotating your foods will help drastically reduce the inflammation and keep your immune system from building up so strongly against the foods you eat most often.

That would be a great start and to help you get your symptoms under control.

  2. QUESTION:
Is there a relationship between allergies, autism, leaky gut syndrome, candida, intestinal flora and antibiotics?
My son is and autistic 10 year old.He is classified as High functioning. We notice changes in behaviour and symptoms for the worse when he was given antibiotics,milk.wheat. We tried a casein /gluten free diet but only saw a mild improvement when he was 5.We have a list of foods which are off limits for him to eat because they cause strange behaviour, rashes, excema dematitis. My wife has a family history of allergies to penicillin and other antibiotics.Rhumitoid arthritis is in the family some members have had to be hospitalized. We have recently tried a new product from Global health trax called Threelac. The product claims to remove unwanted anerobic bacteria and yeast from the intestinal wall.During the first two days of administering Threelac my son was crying because his belly hurt so much.He finally had a pooh which was all yellow and full of stringy material.Yeast?
1 month later he has eye contact, speaks great and tells jokes. What a difference he wants to try new food!!!!!

    • ANSWER:
The thing that is extremely important here is to keep an opened mind, which you seem to be doing very well. All too often, merely asking ones doctor can lead to a dead end. Several things to which our family can personally relate are: family history of allergies, strange behavior apparently associated with certain foods, and that you saw a mild improvement when your son was on a gluten/casein free diet. My son also has autism. It was not diagnosed until he was 10 yrs old......after a continuing nightmare of labels, "treatments"and proposed (threatened) "treatments" which didn't make any sense. One day I read some obscure reference to clusters of misdiagnosed "schizophrenia" in areas of western Ireland where many people had an allergy to wheat. We experimented with removing wheat from my son's diet and his behavior seemed to improve....just a bit. We got him tested for food allergies, and found that he was allergic to" wheat" (gluten), egg whites, "legumes" (peanuts, soy...), and "dairy products" (casein) We removed the offending foods from his diet . I figured this was noninvasive and difinately worth a try. The results were nothing less than amazing! We were very, very careful, read labels, did research. Of course it was difficult,... but when I look at the alternative, and look at look at the payoff, it was definitely worth the effort. Recently, I read in Answers about someone who tried GF/CF diet and it made things worse...Later, it occurred to me that if we had replaced wheat and milk with with soy products, my son probably would be worse. . Your son is very fortunate to have parents who don't give up...
